Benjamin Romero was born May 30th, 1939 to the late Max Romero and Francis Romero in La Junta Colorado. He is survived by his 2 sisters Gloria Torres, Mary Estrada and his twin brother Danny Romero. He was blessed to have many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and two god children Michelle Barajas and Philip Estrada III.
He spent most his life in Carson Ca in a little house he called home with his Mom Francis and his nephew John Courtney. He packed the family up and moved to Lake Elsinore Ca in 2001 next door to his niece Linda Barajas, her husband Herb Barajas, great nephew Herb Jr and God daughter Michelle.
Benny worked for McDonald Douglas, a short time for Coca Cola , He decided to go back to Mc Donald Douglas and had to do an early retirement to be a full time care taker for his mother Frances until her passing in 2010.
Benny was a jokester always making people laugh, he was very outgoing and had many friends, he made sure when he walked up the block to say hello and start a conversation, he would even have random people wave to him when they drove by just because he had a friendly face, cars would stop in the middle of the street to chat with him. We would ask him, do you know them? he would say” no but they started talking to me so I talked back.” That’s the man my Nino was always making every one laugh.
A few years back the cirrhosis of the liver, and a number of unfortunate events that cost him physical injuries started to take its toll on his body which eventually caused him to become weaker and needed of assistants. In September of 2016 his nephew John Courtney became his full time care taker, our family was told that he was not going to make it past February but because of the help and dedication of his nephew John the family was blessed to keep him in our lives for 5 more months.
He will be forever missed and in our hearts.
