Charlotte M. Swanton

Charlotte Marie (Parker) Swanton of Sun City, CA went home to be with the Lord surrounded by her family on Wednesday, March 8, 2017.
She was born in St. Joseph, Missouri on March 18, 1926.  Charlotte left Missouri for Portland OR at the young age of 17 to assist in the war effort. Charlotte met her late-husband of 61 years, Robert Roger Swanton (1916-2005) at a USO dance while working in the shipyards. Together they had and are survived by their three children, Robert Edward Swanton, Linda Falk, and Susan Hunt. Blessed by 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Charlotte is also, survived by her loving brother Ray Parker and sisters Ethel Neighbours and Fonda Venable.
Charlotte and Robert moved to California in 1959. They owned Swanton Plating Company in Riverside for 20 years, a successful silver, gold and chrome electroplating business. In their spare time they loved visiting family and cross country traveling in their RV.
Charlotte was a beloved mother and grandmother. Spending time with her family was the joy of her life. She was known to be an excellent cook. She never spared using her china or good silver to make meals special for Sunday dinner and holidays. Charlotte was also a beloved member for the community where she often hosted her dear friends, playing cards or dominoes. She also enjoyed going to church, long walks and doing tai chi. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
