Tribute

Felipe Lopez, a cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2024, in Perris, California, at the age of 80. Born in St. Luis Potosi, Mexico, on February 5, 1944, Felipe's life was a testament to his enduring work ethic, creativity, and the joy he found in the simple things.

Felipe was known for his friendly demeanor and his remarkable ability to repair and create, earning him the reputation as the neighborhood's go-to handyman. His skills as a master carpenter were not just his profession for 40 years, but also his passion. He brought the same level of care and dedication to his work as he did to his family and community, leaving behind a legacy of beautiful craftsmanship and strengthened bonds in every project he touched.

Beyond his workbench, Felipe had an array of interests that kept his hands and mind active. He was a true jack of all trades – a man who could fix anything that was broken and would happily take on the challenge. His love for working in his garden was evident in the lush vegetables and vibrant flowers that surrounded his home. Felipe also found joy in working on cars, a pastime that reflected his meticulous nature and problem-solving abilities.

Fishing trips were a source of tranquility and pleasure for Felipe, providing him with cherished moments of reflection and connection with nature. His competitive spirit and hope for good fortune shone through in his love for playing the lotto. In quieter times, he could be found engrossed in his favorite western serials, a genre that mirrored the adventurous spirit he carried within him.

Felipe's home was a gathering place for laughter, storytelling, and the warmth of family. He is survived by his loving children, Leonor Lopez, Martha Castillo, Felipe Lopez, and Lino G. Lopez. The joy of his life extended to his eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, who will carry forward the memories of their beloved 'Grampa'. Felipe also leaves behind seven siblings.

His family remembers Felipe as a man who could always be counted on, whether it was for a helping hand or a word of encouragement. His creative spirit and his ability to build and fix were matched only by the strength of his character and the kindness of his heart.

As we say goodbye to Felipe Lopez, we celebrate the life of a man who was loved by many and who made the world a better place through his actions and his presence. He will be deeply missed, but the memories he created will continue to inspire and comfort those who were fortunate enough to know him.
