Floyd Paul Ray

Floyd Paul Ray was born in Sharon Township in the county of Fayette, Illinois on February 13, 1934 and passed away in Murrieta, California on November 1, 2017.  He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Rebecca Jane Ray; 2 children Lou Ann Beggs Lopez & Susan Annette Ray Van Maerssen; 4 grandchildren Jenny Farber, Ian Bradley James, & Jacqueline Lawton and his Sister Farrell Hyman.  He was preceded in death by his daughter Rebecca Renee Kokoska.

Floyd attended high-school in Illinois, where he served as Class President his Senior year.  He proudly served is county in the Army from 1953-1955. He then attended Bradley University.  Floyd then went on to work for the Connor Company in Peoria, Illinois as their main accountant for 35 years before retiring in 1996.  He was extremely respected in his profession.  After retiring, he and Jane moved to Hemet, California.

Floyd enjoyed watching baseball and basketball.  He was a fan of the Chicago Cubs.  He liked to stay active and would play basketball at home for fun.  Floyd was very religious and served as the moral compass for his entire family.  He stayed active at several churches throughout his life utilizing his financial skills to guide the church. His love for the Lord and desire to bring children to Christ was demonstrated by giving up his weekends to drive the children’s bus taking them to church activities. Most recently Floyd and Jane belonged to Fellowship Baptist Church in Hemet, California.

A funeral will be held on Saturday November 4, 2017 at 11:00 am at Evans Brown Sun City Chapel.

Reception will be immediately following the service at 3959 De Marquez Court, Temecula California 92592

Private interment will be at Riverside National Cemetery.
