Frank David Mikulecky (Ski)

December 23, 1945 - March 28, 2024

Frank David Mikulecky (Ski), my husband, my friend, my comedian, my everything passed away at his home in Sun City, California on March 28, 2024.

Frank (Ski) was born December 23, 1945, to Frank and Luella (Palmgren) Mikulecky in Ellsworth, Kansas. Frank’s siblings included Vivian, Jean, and John.

Frank worked in several fields prior to joining the Navy; a Salt Factory, a cook/dishwasher, factory worker, and more. Frank’s Navy career (and a life of travel) began in 1965 with a train trip from his home in Hutchinson, Kansas to the Naval Training Center in San Diego, California. In his 23 years of service, he saw the world and loved every bit of it. Frank was a Chief Petty Officer (E7) before retiring in 1987. He was so proud and loved serving his country.

Frank met the love of his life “Cheryl,” in 1978, and married in 1982. He welcomed with a loving heart and open arms six children and one granddaughter. Frank and Cheryl proudly shared “17” grandchildren and “14” great-grandchildren, and another grandchild on the way. He was a grandpa and great grandpa like no other.

Frank and Cheryl moved to Sun City, California in 1998 after retiring. Before and after retirement, Frank loved touring across the United States in his motorhome with Cheryl. When home, Frank wanted to be busy, so he worked part-time at Sun City Hardware. Everyone loved talking with Frank and would always ask him for guidance on fixing anything and everything. For those that know him, I am sure you would agree.

Frank leaves behind his wife Cheryl, six children: Donald Fravel (Kathy), Douglas Fravel (Supa), Daniel Fravel, Robert Fravel Jr (Marissa), Dawn Ella Fravel, Frank Fravel (Liliana), his sister Vivian Nordhagen, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and wonderful friends. He will be missed by so many.

FROM HIS WHOLE FAMILY, THANK YOU FOR SHARING EVEN A SMALL PIECE OF YOUR LIFE WITH SKI AND OUR FAMILY.

GOD BLESS YOU!
