Mrs. Ida Carter Fisher passed away peacefully at the Magnolia Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Riverside, CA on Friday, January 26, 2018.

Ida was born on January 13, 1954 in St, Louis, MO, to the union of the late Albert Carter Jr. and Eunice Carter. Ida was the oldest of five children, one brother Albert III (Bubby) preceded her in death. Ida was educated in the Lutheran Schools, graduating from Lutheran North High School, Normandy, MO. She later moved to New York and obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Business Communication/Journalism from the University of Syracuse, NY.

Ida had a love for Music and Drama. In 1979 Ida married Horace Gibson of Gary, Indiana (preceded her in death) and in a few years, they decided to make Long Beach, CA their home. in 1988, Ida was employed by KITE 102 FM & KGFJ AM Radio Stations as a Marketing Manager. In 1990, Ida moved to Burbank, CA to obtain employment with Warner Bros. Records in Music Promotions. After she resigned, she became an independent promoter of Local Groups, Vocalist and Musical Artist.

Ida's love for Christ lead her to join the First Baptist Church of North Hollywood under the leadership of Pastor Michael Woodcock. Her service and leadership included: Deacon over the Outreach Ministries, Window of Hope food pantry and homeless neighbors ministry, Circle of Faith Choir, Rose of Sharon Choir, Drama Ministry, Hospital Visitation Ministry,  Ruth Circle Women's Ministry(served as treasurer and secretary), Sunday School and VBS teacher, just to name a few. She loved her Pastor and Church family, and rarely had a conversation that didn't include her Church.

Ida loved to host her out of town family and friends and was the best tour guide California had to offer.

To know Ida was to love her, she always showed herself friendly, so she gained many friends. Ida will be missed by Family, Friends and all who knew her.

She leaves to cherish her memory, A Husband, Allen Fisher of New York, a devoted Mother, Eunice Carter of St. Louis, MO, one Brother, Arthur Carter of St. Louis, MO, three Sisters, Anna Franklin(Robert) of St. Louis, MO, Darlene Dodd(Mack) of Hemet, CA, Telly Williams(Gary) of St. Louis, MO, one Sister in Law, Denise Carter of St. Louis, MO, one Aunt, Carmetha McElroy of St. Louis, MO, one Uncle, Ernest McCann of New York, nieces, Crystal Robyn, Christina, Ashley, Brittney, Kimberly, Courtney, Abreiliana, Savannah, Dominique and Tracey, one nephew, Robert III, six great nieces, six great nephew and a host of cousins and friends.
