Joseph James Ardigo

Joseph James Ardigo Jr. was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on October 19, 1931. He was the second of seven children born to Joseph James Ardigo Sr. and Josephine Henrietta Pessler. He attended Williamson Public High School in Williamson, West Virginia, graduating with the class of ’49.  Joe attended a year at the University of Notre Dame before joining the US Navy during the Korean War. In 1960, Joe married the love of his life, Jean F. Ennis, and together they were blessed with five children: Karen, Gregory, Michele, Patrick and Steven. He loved his family deeply.  He was a wonderful role model, father, and husband.

Joe had an adventurous spirit.  The family fondly remembers their annual summer vacations in their RV.  They visited many National Parks and places of interest throughout the US and Canada. Joe and his wife, Jean, travelled to many regions throughout the world; South Africa, China, Australia, South America and the Holy Land to name a few.

 Everyone who knew Joe liked him.  He was optimistic, kind-hearted, soft-spoken and made friends easily. Joe was a small business owner who was regarded as a fair boss, friend and mentor.  Joe was also an avid golfer.  He belonged to a group of seven golfing buddies who met every Friday- rain or shine.  

On August 18, 2017, Joseph passed away peacefully with his family by his side. His family finds comfort in knowing that he is in heaven with those who have passed before him.  Joseph is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Adrienne Ardigo and Josephine Ardigo McCarthy and his six golfing buddies.  He leaves behind those who cherish his memory: a loving wife of 57 years, 5 children, a brother and 3 sisters, 15 grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews and many friends.
