Micki J. LoweDecember 14, 1956 ~ December 22, 2017 (age 61)
Micki J. 'Maaijo' Lowe was born in Vallejo, California, the first of four children, to Edwin and Joyce Fleshman. Micki attended Oak Grove High School in San Jose, California, and graduated with the class of '75, then went on to earn her Bachelor's degree in Journalism at De Anza college in Cupertino, California. In 1977 she married her high school sweetheart, Gary Lowe, and for forty years they enjoyed road trips, classic movies, and simply being with each other.
In 2009, Micki started Inknbeans Press, a small publishing house. In eight years, through diligence, dedication, long hours, and brilliance, she saw it grow to publish 168 book titles written by 31 authors, both in the United States and abroad.
In her free time, Micki loved crocheting, reading, and writing. She and Gary enjoyed discovering new English tea houses and trips to Disneyland.
Micki believed in speaking for those who could not speak for themselves. Any donations made in her name should go to pediatric cancer organizations or your local animal shelter.
Micki will always be remembered for her love and compassion, her willingness to go the extra mile, her ability to make us laugh, her skill in solving our problems and encouraging us, her fierce loyalty to those she loved, and her quiet but ever-present walk with her Lord, Jesus Christ.
