Patricia Smith

Patricia Smith passed away peacefully at home with daughter Carol and granddaughter Jennifer at her bedside on February 3, 2017.  She was born in Monterey, California on July 4, 1926 to Angelina and Joseph Flores.  As a child the family moved to San Francisco, California.  Pat worked in the canneries and Fort Bragg.  Pat then met her beloved husband Carroll of 43 years, whom was in the US Navy.  They were married in San Francisco in 1945 then shortly after moved to Perris, California.  Pat resided in Perris for 72 years.  She worked at Perris Union High School district for 17 years.

Pat was a dedicated 52 year member of the Native Daughters of the Golden West, a life-time Honorary Member of the National Cemetery Support Committee, and volunteered her time to the Veterans Hospital in Loma Linda, California.

Pat is survived by two daughters, Carol Thomason & Pat Storey; Sister Ida Debrunner; three Brothers Paul, Mario, and Joe Flores; Aunt Frances Solis; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Pat loved life, loved to laugh, cherished her friendships and lastly adored her daughter Carol and granddaughter Jennifer.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Native Daughters of the Golden West at 543 Baker Street, San Francisco, CA  94117, Riverside National Cemetery, or the Veterans Hospital in Loma Linda, CA.
