Peter James Giummo
The Buffalo Bills lost a loyal fan, golf lost an avid player, community organizations lost a devoted contributor, and the world lost a wonderful human being when Peter lost his courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, June 21, 2017.
Born in Rochester, New York on May 19, 1959, Pete was a graduate of St. Bonaventure University where he earned a degree in accounting. Soon after graduation, Pete fled the harsh upstate New York winters for warmer weather in Texas and then Southern California where he lived for more than half his life. He met his soul-mate and loving wife Rhonda (Restad) in Canyon Lake, CA where they were married on December 9, 1989. Peter was devoted to his three children: Tiffany (and Mark) Vasquez; Eric (and Abbey) Giummo and Austin (and Jessica) Rahe and loved being ‘Papa’ to his five grandchildren: Vincent, Connor, Grace, Jillian and Zoe who were the light of his life.
Peter was preceded in death by his father, Vincent Giummo. Left to cherish his memory and keep his legacy of love and generosity alive are his mother Grace Giummo of Williamsburg, VA; sisters Debra Giummo Snider of Yorktown VA; Angela Giummo Lepore of Norwalk, CT, Lisa (and Ken) LaLonde of Williamsburg, VA; his mother and father-in-law, Ron and Diane Restad of Wildomar, CA, brother and sister-in-laws , nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles and a host of loyal friends.
Visitation is July 6 from 6-8 pm at Evans-Brown Morturary (Sun City, CA), a Funeral Mass at St Vincent Ferrer Church (Sun City, CA) will follow on July 7 at 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers, Pete’s favorite charities were: Inland Valley Habitat for Humanity (www.habitativ.org/donate) and Project Touch (www.projecttouch.org); both have supporting children and families at the heart of their missions.
