William Thomas Lantz

January 24, 1925 ~ September 29, 2017 (age 92) 92 Years Old

William Thomas Lantz was born on January 24, 1925 in Clark, New Jersey and passed away on September 29, 2017 in Sun City, California.  He is survived by his 2 children Mary Beth Rhoades of Rialto, California & Thomas Joseph Lantz of Williston, North Dakota; 4 grandchildren Brandon, Bart, Leslie, & Kristen; 10 great-grandchildren; and sisters Dorothy Lantz & Shirley Eddy.  He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Lantz of 54 years in 2006.  He served in the US Navy during WWII.

Bill lived in Rialto for 47 years, where he was involved with sports, PTA and the Boy Scouts as his children grew.  He had some college credits, with an interest in agriculture.   Professionally Bill worked as a field engineer for SCE for over 25 years.  He was a Ham Radio Operator.  He raised registered Polled Hereford.  His hobbies included electronics, gardening, cooking, visiting casinos, and traveling.  He was a member of St. Vincent Ferrer and the Travel Club in Sun City.  Bill also dedicated his time to hand-making hundreds of rosaries over the years that he distributed.  He was well read, and therefore was a great conversationalist.  His family and friends will miss his entertaining stories, generous heart and genuine spirited character.
