Barbara Marie Ross

Barbara Marie Ross, age 87, of Sun City, CA passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. After battling pneumonia for a short period of time. 

Barbara was born July 27, 1934 to Francis and Floe (Allison) Beck in Elwood, IN. She graduated from Wendell Wilkie High School in  Elwood in  1952. She then went on to school at St Marys College of Notre Dame, where she received her degree as a Registered Nurse in 1955.

Barbara married Donald Lee Ross in Elwood, IN on September 10th, 1955.  They had 4 children together.  Barbara worked as an RN at several hospitals over the year where she worked in Labor and delivery, the Emergency room and the Rehabilitation departments.

In the summer of 1978 Barbara and Don and 4 children moved from Indiana to Palm Springs, CA, where she was the Charge nurse and RN at Desert Regional Hospital in the Rehab department.  They then moved to Corona CA where she worked at Corona Regional Hospital also in the Rehab department. 

In 2000 Barbara and Don retired to Sun City, CA  where they were members of the United Church of Christ.  During her retirement, Barbara enjoyed reading, crocheting, and spending time watching her grandchildren do the things they love, playing baseball, football and cheer.  Barbara was always their biggest fan and rarely missed any events that involved her grandchildren.

Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Lee Ross, who passed away 2 years earlier on the same day.  Her parents Francis and Floe Beck, her 2 brothers, Herschel and Robert, her sister Clara, her two granddaughters, Trisha and Allison, and her beloved dog Taco, who passed just 3 weeks prior to her passing.

She is survived by her 4 children, Craig Kellow Ross and spouse, Johnny of Hemet, CA.  Todd Ross of Sun City, CA .  Stacia Ross of Sun City, CA  and Amy Ross-Frahn and spouse Jason of Menifee, CA.

8 grandchildren, Arlena Madrigal, Andrew Ross and spouse Kristy, Ryan Madrigal, Christian Frahn and spouse Summer, Elizabeth Frahn and Sevan Kellow.

4 great grandchildren; Aiden Madrigal, Leland Solano, Ava Madrigal and Kylie Marie Ross.

Barbara will always be remembered for how much she loved her children and grandchildren.  There is nothing she wouldn’t have done for any of them.  She had a huge passion for animals and truly loved her career as a nurse.  She will be missed by so many, there wasn’t anyone that met her that didn’t call her Mom or grandma, she was truly a beautiful soul who loved with her whole heart.  She will be greatly missed.
