Angela Michelle Askins was born on Wednesday, December 16, 1978 to Wesley Jr. and Marilyn Jean Askins at Fort Ord Military Base Hospital in Monterey, California. Angela was the oldest of 4 children born to Wesley Jr. and Marilyn Jean Askins. Angela lived a full and active life. She attended Rancho Bernardo High School in Rancho Bernardo, California.

As a child, Angela loved Ariel, the cartoon character from the Disney movie, “The Little Mermaid.” She had an Ariel blanket that she carried everywhere she spent the night. Angela’s favorite color was purple, she loved butterflies and enjoyed all types of music. A few of her favorite pass times outside of spending time with her family was attending concerts, visiting different cities, hotels, clubs and restaurants. Angela was an outgoing person with a contagious smile, she made friends everywhere she went, and she could tell you all the best places to go to from San Diego to Las Vegas.

Angela was very smart and intelligent. She was a natural born Leader, a Go-Getter, Great Listener an always displayed her jolly personality in every setting. Angela was a Team Player and she loved to help plan events and had a great hand for crafts. Angela loved sports, her favorite childhood basketball player was Michael Jordan. Angela being a Cali girl, loved the Golden State Warriors and San Diego/Los Angeles Chargers. She was a true poker player and she absolutely loved being around her family and friends. Angela was nurturing by nature, this was displayed in the way she loved and cared for her baby sister Leesa as if she was her own as well as the way she loved and cared for her God-child, nieces, nephew and little cousins.

Angela worked for Chase Bank in Rancho Bernardo, California, OPTUM-RX (03/2012) in Carlsbad, California and for Caliber Home Loans (10/2018) in Rancho Bernardo, California before the Lord called her home from her labor.

Preceding Angela in death were her brother Wesley Askins III, paternal grandparents, Wesley Sr. and Bessie Lee Askins, maternal grandmother Betty Adams-Rivera, uncle, Lionel Askins, and aunt, Joan Faye Butler.

Angela departed this life on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 and leaves to cherish her memory her parents; Wesley Jr. and Marilyn Jean Askins [California], sister; Leesa Askins [California], brother Marcus Askins [Kansas], uncles; Orlando (Andrea) Askins [California], Hurley Keith (Elana) Askins [California], Samuel Harris [California], Gilbert (Rei) Williams [California], Kenneth (Susie) Wilson [Nevada], Larry (Elgie) Washington [Louisiana], aunts; Hernese Askins [California], Erica Askins [California], Mone’(Wardell) Tinsley [Nevada], Karen Harris [Washington], Gwendolyn (Roland) Greene [California], Geraldine James [Louisiana], Renee Butler-Ooten [Louisiana], Monica Williams [Georgia] nieces; Taylor and Leah Askins, nephew; Evan, godchildren; Serenity Ellis, Devin Goodloe and Angelo Duckworth and a host of loving cousins, family members, and close friends.
