Anthony Richard Travers, 85, husband of Mary Frances Travers, of Lake Elsinore, CA (former resident of Carson, CA) went home to Heaven on October 3, 2020.
Mr. Travers served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. He later worked for the City of Los Angeles at LAX and the Harbor Department and retired after 25 years of service. Mr. Travers then started a new career with the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority. After his second retirement, he and his wife, Mary, enjoyed adventuring with family in their motor home at lakes, nature reserves, and camp sites in California. They relished many happy years hosting family at their Lake Elsinore dream home.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Frances Travers and seven children: Victoria Masotto and her husband Andrew Masotto of Lake Elsinore, CA; Kathleen Travers and her husband Ron Hoffman of Sunland, CA; Joseph Travers of Valley Center, CA; David Travers and his wife, Brenda Wolfe, of Lake Elsinore, CA; Christine Moran and her husband Carlos Moran of Alta Loma, CA; Mark Travers of Tempe, AZ; Rebecca Ross and her husband Michael Ross of Murrieta, CA. He is also survived by his 14 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and his sister Naida Schweigert of Burbank, CA.
Private services will be held on October 21, 2020, at Evans Brown Mortuary & Riverside National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate in his name to the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).
