Murrieta, California – Armando Paul Rios passed away peacefully into the loving arms of our Lord on October, 2020. Armando was born in 1943 to Rachael and Juaquin Rios.
Armando was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather Ray Aragon and brother Jack Jr.
Armando is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Irene, his brothers Gilbert, Ronnie and Paul and his sisters Armida, Rita and Rhonda. He is also survived by his two sons Chris and Michael and a very large step-family that he always welcomed as his own – three sons (David, Tony and Mark), two daughters (Teresa and Annette), twelve grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Armando was raised in East Los Angeles and attended Garfield High School. In 1961, he enlisted in the Air Force at the age of 18 and was stationed at Hamilton Air Force Base in northern California and was assigned to the 78th Combat Support Group. His service ended with an Honorable Discharge with the rank of Senior Airman.
After his service to our country, Armando attended Mt San Antonio college and received his AA degree in business and began his career with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. He worked his way up from a field technician to supervisor of an Investigation Field Unit.
Armando and Irene were married on a mountain top overlooking Green Valley Lake in 1973. They spent many years in Hacienda Heights celebrating a growing family and so many gatherings and celebrations. Most of their years together were spent visiting with and embracing their loved ones, trips to Hawaii, the race track, Northern California. His hobbies were reading, poker, softball games and scuba diving. Armando will always be remembered for his warmth, kindness and love for his family and friends. He was a genuine and caring father, grandfather, uncle and friend to many and will be dearly missed.
