Augustine De Lao was born in Irwindale, California on May 28, 1927 to Santana De Lao and Maria Martinez. He passed away peacefully with his family by his side on March 13, 2019 in Menifee, California.
Augustine attended school and at the young age of 16, he was drafted into the US Army during WWII and was stationed in Korea as a Military Police. Shortly after his military service, he married the love of his life Sylvina Hernandez in February of 1949, together they were blessed with thirteen children: Ramon, James, Tom, Sylvia, Consuelo, Christina, Augustine Jr., Abran, Fred, Santana, Cecilia, David and Marina. He worked in construction and landscaping for many years. He was a very loving husband and father who enjoyed spending time with family and friends in gatherings. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and being in the outdoors. He will be dearly missed and loved by all those who knew and loved him.
Augustine is preceded in death by four sons: Augustine Jr., Tom, Abram and David. Augustine leaves behind to cherish and live on in his memory his loving wife of 70 years Sylvina; four sons Ramon, James, Fred and Santana; five daughters Sylvia, Consuelo, Christina, Cecilia and Marina; forty-three grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 54 great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews and many friends.
