Barry Kim Thomas
Passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, June 25, 2022 in Menifee, California. Kim, as he was known by his family and friends, was born on March 16, 1955, in Ft. Hood, Texas.
Kim served his country in the United States Marine Corps and was a History Teacher for 30 years. Kim loved soccer and he coached for many years at both Delano and Temecula Valley High Schools and brought the TVHS soccer team their first CIF championship in 1991. He enjoyed playing Dungeons & Dragons and singing and playing music on his guitar. He loved to entertain, cooking elaborate multi-course meals, and crafting D&D miniature models and landscapes for his gaming sessions. Kim’s greatest passion was his love for, and his faith in, God. During his lifetime, he was always involved in the church as either the worship leader or member of the worship team. He was known for his beautiful voice and met his wife, Priscilla, while audition for a musical in 1980.
Kim is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Priscilla Thomas (nee Sanford), of San Juan Capistrano, California; his loving children and their families: David (Amy) Thomas, Robert Thomas and Barrie Thomas; his four grandchildren: James, Nathan, Zachary and Daniel; and his siblings: Bonita Jennings and Earl Jackson Jennings, Jr. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ila and Earl Jennings.
There will be a visitation (open casket) on Friday, July 29, 2022, from 4-8pm at Evans-Brown Mortuary, 27010 Encanto Dr., Menifee, Ca 92585. The Celebration of Life, for Kim, will be on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 3:00 pm at The Lambs Fellowship 21901 Railroad Canyon Rd., Lake Elsinore, Ca 92532. After which there will be a reception at the adjoining Fellowship Hall. Kim will be laid to rest at Riverside National Cemetery.
