Bea Jae Armstrong, aged 82, passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, January 20, 2023. She was born on June 2, 1940, in Mattoon, Illinois, to Betty and James Bryant. She moved to California as a young girl and was raised by her mother and her stepfather, Eugene Roth. She was a 1959 graduate of Phineas Banning High School, and later worked as a customer service representative for General Telephone. Bea Jae was an avid gardener, runner, dancer and quilter. She was immensely creative and enjoyed spending a lot of time with her friends in her many quilt clubs, where she won awards for several of her quilts. In her later years, Bea Jae enjoyed serving in her church, traveling, and spending time with her family. Bea Jae truly lived life to the fullest, making friends everywhere she went, and had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. Bea Jae made life precious. She was kind and strong; her smile and sincerity put meaning into moments. More than anything, Bea Jae loved God and loved her family. She is survived by her devoted husband, best friend, and partner in life, Gary; her sons, James, Jeffrey, and David; her daughters-in-law Anna and Pammy; her grandchildren Dani, Troy, Tricia, Nicole, Kyle, Aubree, Tyler, Chelsea, Gannon, Riley, and Bonnie; her great-grandchildren Wesley, Elliot, Raegan, and Jack; her sister-in-law Jeanne; and her nieces Debbie and Dana. Family, friends, and others whose lives Bea Jae touched are invited to her memorial at Evans-Brown Mortuary, 27010 Encanto Dr., Sun City, at 11 a.m., with a reception immediately following.
