Charles Edward (Jr.) Brown

October 11, 1945 ~ December 15, 2021 (age 76) 76 Years Old

Tribute

Charles was born in Spokane, Washington on October 11, 1945, to Charles and May (Barrett) Brown. Although Charles loved being a Jr., he preferred to be called Charlie, or to his older family members, “Little Eddie.”

Charlie lived in and around the greater northwest of the country for most of his youth until relocating to sunny Southern California in his young teens. It is here that Charlie flourished in his musical talents, singing and performing with new and old friends, and popular bands of the day, such as the Beach Boys, Jan and Dean, and the Righteous Brothers to name a few. He enjoyed entertaining people, always at the center stage ready to sing, dance, tell jokes, and make you blush!

Charlie was very proud of his Irish roots, and often could be heard singing an Irish folk song or dancing a jig now and again that was taught to him as a wee lad.

In 1964, Charlie joined the United States Air Force. He was very proud to be one of very few men to call themselves an Instrument Trainer Specialist. To this day, that fact still remains, those few men were the only ones to receive that title. Once military life came to an end, Charlie pursued many career adventures. Holding several degrees in different fields, from television and radio engineering, music, management positions with major food chains, CPA and Auditor for the State of California’s Board of Equalization; to eventually owning and operating his own restaurant, Charlie Brown’s Pizza and Grinder. I have yet to ever taste a pizza as perfect as his!

Charlie married in 1965 and was blessed with three children, Michele, David, and Wendy. His family was the one thing in life he believed to be his greatest gift and accomplishment. Family BBQ’s, watching movies, particularly the scary ones, and reading Steven King novels were of his favorite past times.

On December 15, 2021, Charlie passed away at the age of 76 where he was joined with Our Lord and his loved ones that passed before him. He is survived by his loving family and friends. Charlie Brown was a unique character that lived life to the fullest. He was loved greatly and will be sorely missed.
