David Allen Domanski

David Allen Domanski, 88, of Murietta, CA passed away Saturday, June 8, 2019 surrounded by close family and friends. A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, July 20th at Evans-Brown Mortuary, 27010 Encanto Drive, Sun City, CA 92585. Light refreshments and delightful conversation will follow in the reception room. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to a charity of your choice.

David was born August 22, 1930 in Burbank, CA to Monica and David Louis Domanski. He graduated from Burbank High School in 1948 and from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1952 with a degree in Zoology. David was a U.S. Navy Reserve Lieutenant Junior Grade and was the Division Officer on the USS Bemerton. He earned the National Defense Service Medal with 2 stars for his Korean War service.

On June 29, 1957, he married Donna Lee Bordwell in Riverside, CA. David was employed as the Western Regional sales and distribution manager for Jenn-Air Appliances, and was one of the company's leading sales-people. He also was a trained master chef. He was an avid sailor and an active member of Orange Coast Yacht Club and later the Bahia Corinthian Yacht Club, as Commodore of OCYC in 1967 and of BCYC in 1970, and is the namesake for the BCYC Domanski Perpetual Trophy. He was also the 1970 Commodore of The Association of Orange Coast Yacht Clubs (AOCYC). David and Donna enjoyed 41 years of marriage, traveling the world, cooking together, sailing, wine-making, and raising their daughters Teresa and Deborah.

After Donna passed away from cancer in 1998, he remarried Dorothy Elaine Curley on August 5, 2000. Together, they enjoyed yachting on their MacGregor 25 foot sailboat named "Our Song" with The Venture Yacht Club, and competing with their prize-winning Tennessee Walking Horses "Bad News Tradition" & "Coins Cruiser." They were season ticket holders of The San Diego Opera, and active members of Calvary Chapel in Lake Elsinore, CA.

David's other lifelong passions include trolling for fish off the back of his boat, making home movies of family outings, playing the ukulele, camping, and spending time with his family.

David is survived by his daughters, Teresa Mihelic and Deborah Domanski, and his step-son Greg Curley, his sister Marlene Johanson, Brother- & Sister-in-Law Merle & Edna Bordwell, Brother-in-Law Joseph Bordwell, grandson Patrick Mihelic, step-grandchildren Sarah & Christopher Curley, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Monica & David Louis, and his two wives Donna Lee Domanski (1998) and Dorothy (Curley) Domanski (2018), and son-in-law Dennis Mihelic (2007).
