Tribute

David Loera Castillo, known affectionately as “Big Dave” to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2024, in Riverside, California. Born on August 26, 1969, in Baja California, Mexico, David's journey of 54 years was marked by an unwavering spirit of love and an infectious sense of humor that brought light and laughter to all who knew him.

David's life was a testament to the enduring power of love. He was a devoted husband to his loving wife of 33 years, Martha Castillo, and a nurturing father to his children, Michael Ponce, Genesis Castillo, David Moses Castillo, and Gilbert Anthony Salcedo-Lopez. His mother, Maria Villages, and his brother, Jose Armando Castillo, also survive him, each a cherished beacon in his life.

Professionally, David dedicated 15 years of his career to sales in a roofing company, where his charismatic personality and genuine care for others made him not just a favorite among clients, but also a beloved colleague

David's passions extended beyond his professional life. He was an avid poker player, a sports enthusiast, and found great joy in playing golf. These activities were more than hobbies; they were avenues through which he formed lasting friendships and shared countless moments of joy and camaraderie.

Above all, David's family was his world. His heart belonged to his wife and children, and he took every opportunity to create memories that they will cherish forever. Be it a family barbecue, a spontaneous road trip, or simply an evening spent together at home, David understood that the value of time spent with loved ones was immeasurable.

Those who had the pleasure of knowing David will remember him as loving, kind, and funny. His laughter was contagious, his kindness boundless, and his love for his family and friends knew no limits. David approached life with a jovial disposition that endeared him to many and ensured that his presence was a source of comfort and joy.

We remember David Loera Castillo not for the void his departure leaves, but for the fullness of spirit he shared with us during his time on Earth. His legacy is one of love, laughter, and the enduring bonds of family and friendship. His life's story is a beautiful tapestry woven with the threads of joy, kindness, and the countless lives he touched.

As we bid farewell to David, we carry forward the lessons of compassion and mirth he imparted. We will honor his memory by embracing life with the same wholehearted love and infectious laughter that he did. David's spirit will continue to guide and inspire us, as a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend.

David Loera Castillo's life was a beautiful reflection of the things that matter most. His memory will be forever etched in the hearts of those who loved him. Though he has departed from this world, the warmth of his love and the echo of his laughter will remain with us always.
