Debora Jean Flynn Ortiz

We regretfully announce the passing of our mother, Debora Jean Flynn Ortiz, 59, of

Lake Elsinore on April 26, 2021. Debbie passed away of a heart attack at her home. Her

loss was completely unexpected and the family is shocked and deeply saddened.

Debbie was born on December 15, 1961 to John and Margaret Flynn in Inglewood, California. She

loved the fact that she and her father shared the same birthday. Debbie attended both

Rosary Academy and Bunnell High School where she made many life-long friends and

enjoyed participating in the drama club. She performed in a number of different plays

and musicals and considered herself a true “thespian.” After graduating high school, Debbie received an associate’s degree from Housatonic Community College.

Debbie was a devoted mother who treasured her children. They were her shining lights and greatest accomplishments.

She loved to spend time with her girls and her house was always open to their friends

and others. Debbie had so much love to spare and “adopted” many of the neighborhood kids. In the last two years, Debbie’s greatest enjoyment came from her granddaughter, Margaret Grace.

Anyone who knew Debbie, knew what a kind, loving, and generous person she was. Her

door was always open and she helped and encouraged many with her words and love.

She had an immense love for God. Many will miss her daily devotionals. She also loved

America and was vocal in her passion for making it great again. Many will also remember

Debbie for her love of Elvis passed down from her Mom. Everyone can tell a story about the time Debbie had them

cracking up. Her incredible sense of humor will definitely be missed. She was the friendliest soul and never met a stranger, just a friend she hadn’t met yet. Debbie’s family and friends will miss her more than words can say.

Debbie was preceded in death by both her parents. She is survived by her brothers, John

and James and her sister, Theresa Christina (Anthony); children Jessica Poirier

(Joseph) of Temecula, Skylar Schmoe of Jamestown, North Dakota and Brianna Schmoe of Lake Elsinore; granddaughter Margaret Grace.
