Dennis Francis Reicks

September 18, 1935 ~ January 1, 2020 (age 84) 84 Years Old

Tribute

Dennis Francis Reicks was born in Howells, Nebraska to William and Dela Rosa (Del) Reicks on September 18, 1935.  He entered into eternal life on January 1, 2020.  He was blessed to have gone to heaven in his sleep.  God is good....no sickness, no fear and no worry for his family.   Much of the family had been together for a wonderful Christmas.

He was the third of 7 children and grew up in modest circumstances in Nebraska and Iowa in a loving Catholic family.   He entered the army out of high school and was stationed in Germany.   After leaving the military, he lived in Southern California, learned sports parachuting (commonly known as skydiving) and grew to love it.  He married in 1964 and had 3 daughters.

He worked as an inspector in the automotive and aerospace industries.   He traveled the world and represented his company and industry as recording secretary for the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE).  His last position was Technical Service Manager at National O'Rings.   He retired in 1999.

He met Jackie in 1979 after his first marriage had ended and they married July 17, 1982 forming a happy blended family.   They lived happily in Fountain Valley, then Huntington Beach and then Menifee California.  In their retirement, they enjoyed road trips, family gatherings and yard parties visiting their children in their homes from California to New York.  Dennis enjoyed golf, watching his grand children's activities (school, sports, musical theater etc) and loved being called on to babysit.

He is the best husband, father, and papa we could have ever hoped for. His unconditional love for us, and constant support and encouragement, gave us a living example/reminder of how loved and important we are to our heavenly Father.

He is survived by his wife Jackie of 38 years, children Debbi Lewis (David), Donna Gaudy (Patrick), Darice Mead (Bill), Mami Humann (Jon), Mark Lister (Manee), Susan Soltani (Saeed), Janet Lister, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and his siblings, William Reicks, Mona Britt, Dave Reicks (Etta), Marilyn Boulware, Carolyn Crilly (John), and Steve Reicks (Gaylia).

We will miss his loving tender heart dearly and look forward to when we will meet again.

Celebration of Life will be held virtually via Zoom Meeting Saturday January 1st, 2021, 2pm-3:30pm PT. Please email debbiw64@gmail.com if you need an invitation to the Zoom Meeting
