Doris Grace Stites

10/17/1948 – 5/25/2021

Doris suddenly and unexpectedly left this worldly life on Tuesday May 25, 2021. Her family, relatives and friends are shocked and deeply saddened by her passing.

Doris was born in Chicago, Illinois to Clinton Johnson and Dorothy Brandle. They moved the family to Monterey Park California in the 1950’s where Doris graduated from Monterey Park High School. She went on to become a department secretary for Security Pacific Bank for 20 years.  Doris married her husband Roger Stites on June 15th 1974 in Monterey Park California.  They were blessed with 3 sons; Kevin, Jeffrey, and Jonathan. When her twins were born, she became a live at home mom supporting her children through school.  Once the kids were out of high school she became a elementary school Librarian which she loved very much. After 33 years in Orange County, Doris & Roger moved to their forever home in Riverside County.

While all of us are heartbroken by her passing, we are profoundly grateful for the impact she had all of on us. She had a loving compassionate heart for others and an enthusiasm for all that she did, even though technology could get the best of her once in a while.  Her door was always open and she helped and encouraged many with her words and unconditional love. She was always strongly engaged in the lives of her family. Loved being with friends, family gatherings, scrapbooking, bowling and especially decorating her new home.

She will be remembered for her courageous spirit, strength of character, grace, humility, and relenting devotion to family. Her spirit and passion will continue to inspire all of us who knew her. She will be so dearly missed by her family and those whose lives she touched.

Doris is survived by her husband Roger and her 3 sons: Kevin (Randi), Jeffrey (Melissa), Jonathan (Alexis); a brother David Johnson (Dana), 2 grandson’s James and Andrew; nieces, nephews, and many cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister Karen McPhee.

Services for Doris will be private.  Please contact the family to get info on the reception gathering at their home.
