Eileen Marie (Heidenreich) Smith

Eileen Marie (Heidenreich, Withey,) Smith, age 78 went to be with our Lord and Savior on Thursday January 26th, 2023. Resident of Menifee, CA, formerly of Ann Arbor, MI, born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. Eileen often stated the past twenty years of her life being the wife of her loving and devoted husband Don Smith were the happiest years of her life.

Eileen is the mother of Eric Bassett Withey (Jennifer), step-mother of David (Deana) and Brian Smith, and Tracey Ferster. Daughter of the late Dr. H. Vincent and Aniceta Heidenreich. Eileen was a graduate of St. Elizabeth High School, Pleasant Hills, PA. Post high school Eileen was the first woman in Allegheny County, PA to obtain a single engine pilot license and subsequently started her own ground flight school.

Work history includes administration at J.C. Penny, Ypsilanti Press, Travel Lodge Motels, and Douglas Allred Construction Co. She obtained her Real Estate license and was employed quite successfully as a Realtor at Rancho Consultants, once selling four properties in an afternoon. Eileen was a member of St. Vincent Ferrer Roman Catholic Church in Menifee, CA. Eileen marveled at God’s creation, especially birds and flowers. She was an avid reader and quite fond of jigsaw puzzles. Eileen graciously shared with family, friends and neighbors the fruits and culinary delights from their peach, apple, orange and fig trees. Eileen and Don explored much of the West traveling in their RV.

Eileen will be deeply missed by her sisters Pat Sikes, Jean Hartman, Marian Tate, and her brothers Philip, Richard, Dennis, Lawrence and James Heidenreich. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Deacon Vincent, John, and Anita Heidenreich. Eileen was known for her kind, compassionate, loving heart, and quick wit. Her death creates a void in the lives of all who were blest to know and love her.

Mortuary, 27010 Encanto Dr, Menifee, CA 92585. Funeral Mass to be celebrated at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church, 27931 Murrieta Road, Menifee, CA 92586 on Thursday, February 16th at 12 PM.
