Gale Ann Voss

Mrs. Gale Ann “Tua” Voss was born to the late Johnny Moore and Henrietta Womble on November 4, 1947 in Omaha, Nebraska and was raised by the late Leonard Branch, Sr. Gale was the oldest of seven children. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic High School and would later attend Los Angeles Harbor City College in Wilmington, California studying Business  administration. She received a certificate in Tax Preparation and found herself being the family tax accountant for several years. Gale was mainly an experienced homemaker, raising her children as well as a host of nieces and nephews. For several years, once the children were older Gale worked seasonally for H&R Block and the Auto Trader.

On April 8, 1972, Gale married Robert Voss and they relocated to Long Beach, California in 1973. Later, they would purchase their 2nd home in Carson, California where they began their family for over 12 years before relocating to Moreno Valley, California in 1986 where they raised their family until 2010.

Once they reached their retirement years they relocated to a senior living community in Sun City, California until her homegoing. Their house was always open to a host of family and friends. In fact, Gale and Robert were certified foster parents which allowed for many children to come in and out of the home including nieces and nephews.

Gale learned to play the piano at an early age and would later teach all of her children how to read   music and play the piano. She enjoyed traveling, reading, sewing, crocheting, knitting, painting, fishing, camping, and doing cross-words puzzles daily. She learned to bowl in 1972 and participated on a host of bowling leagues traveling to a variety of tournaments over state lines. She also learned to play golf. In her younger days, she enjoyed playing Bid Whist and hosting socials with her siblings and in-laws.

As a young adult, Gale accepted Jesus as her Savior and would later attend the Crenshaw Christian  Center Church on a regular basis until moving to Moreno Valley. During that time, she would be found studying her Bible at home watching T.D. Jakes, Creflo Dollar and Bill Winston. She had a true relationship with God and was very blessed.  Gale was loyal to her husband, children, family and extended family. She was a fire-cracker at times, but possessed a pure heart for everyone. She was a confident, intelligent, and honest woman of God who loved her family relentlessly.

In 2002, she became a proud and loyal grandmother to her oldest granddaughter, Kamari Dominique Thomas (17), grandson, Ayden Garcia (14) and two other granddaughters, Alayah and “Gracie Mae”       Harrison.  She was even a proud witness to the births of several of her nieces, Porsha, Brittany, and Dericca Carter.

On October 5, 2019 at 7:41 PM, God called His angel home. Her legacy is left to be cherished by her surviving husband of 47 years, Robert Voss; her daughters, Rakesha L. Voss-Thomas and Gavenia W. Bailes; son, Jerrell Harrison; siblings, Raymond Branch, Michael Branch, Sr. (deceased), Sylvester Branch, Sidney Branch, Sr. (deceased), Michelle Branch and Marcus Branch, along with grandchildren and a host of 1st and 2nd cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

Miss Me But Let Me Go

When I come to the end of the road,
and the sun has set for me.
