Tribute

Grayson Noah Perez was born on December 26, 2014 at 1:48 am. Coming into this world our precious baby boy stole many hearts. At just 2 weeks old he was diagnosed with a very rare metabolic disorder called Ethylmalonic Encephalopathy also known ETHE1. It broke our hearts to know doctors didn’t think he would be with us long. Something told us otherwise, that Grayson would be here longer and have a chance to experience life. As many of you don’t know most children diagnosed with his disorder don’t make it past infancy, but with prayers and blessings from Jehovah our baby boy had passed his life expectancy. Grayson was our little miracle baby. Although Grayson had troubles with speech, he spoke with his eyes and by his looks we knew exactly what he wanted. Most doctors believed he wouldn’t accomplish much but our little fighter proved them otherwise with the help of his loving therapists and his parents pushing him. Grayson was a go getter. He had learned to sit, crawl, stand, and even take steps in his gate trainer. Whenever he knew he wanted to do something, Grayson would push himself to accomplish it.

At age 3, Grayson began pre-school at Rob Reiner Children & Families Center. He made friends and was easily loved by teachers, nurses, and classmates. There you saw Grayson learn to love many new activities. Despite everything Grayson went through, there was never a day you would not see him smiling. Anyone who has ever met him can tell you that Grayson was a happy, sweet, and loving child. Even through the hardest of times, he showed us that you can still have a smile on your face and in those moments, those are the times we cherished the most.

Next to being our beloved son, Grayson was a wonderful big brother. With the long but short time he had spent with his brother Mason, they grew to love each other so much. Always by each other’s side he taught his little brother the simplest things in life as well as motivating and looking after each other. Loved by many, our child lived a very happy life. Grayson will live on in our hearts forever, always remembered as a beloved son, brother, nephew, grandson, great grandson and a great friend through all the memories we have made with him. We stay with faith and hope in our hearts that we will see him again and our loved ones in Paradise just as Jehovah has promised.
