Tribute

Harold Edward Nolan, known as Ed by his family and friends, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2020, at the age of 78. In 1961 Ed joined the Air Force, he was a Vietnam Vet, specialized in aircraft avionics, and was an instructor that wrote several manuals on avionics before retiring in 1981 with 20 years of service. Ed was recruited to work as an Aerospace Project Manager for Ford Aerospace and moved to Orange County, California, in 1981. He went on the have a career with Rockwell International, Boeing, and retired from Northrop Grumman.

Ed played basketball, swam and was a lifeguard in his youth, he belonged to many bowling leagues in his life and loved to dance. In his later years, he enjoyed attending water aerobic classes and made several friends. Throughout his life, he enjoyed talking with people of all generations, he encouraged, provided a helping hand, and was a good listener. Ed was a caring and kind man that always put others first, and he will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Ed was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved this country and considered himself a true patriot.

Ed is survived by his loving wife Barbara of 57 years, his son Scott Nolan, daughter Susan Norris, daughter and son-in-law, Vickie (Steven) Lowenstein, his grandchildren Mackenzie Norris, Ryan Norris, Kyle Lowenstein, Katie Lowenstein, and his brother Phillip Nolan.

Ed was proceeded in death by his parents, Harold J. and Rose L. Nolan, and his son-in-law, Capt. Lamar Norris. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in memory of Ed to the Wounded Warrior Project.
