Hector Guadalupe Gutierrez was born in Pharr, Texas on January 29, 1980. He was the youngest of three children born to Virginia Gutierrez. He attended Donna High School in Donna, Texas and graduated with the Class of ’97. In 2000, Hector joined the United States Marine Corps where he proudly served for 13 years as a Military Police officer. On July 1, 2003 Hector married Maria Del Rosario Velasquez and together they were blessed with four children; Arturo, Paola, Jairo and Johnathan.
Hector was passionate about law enforcement. After his military service, Hector transitioned to federal civil service working as a Correctional Officer for the Department of Justice - Bureau of Prisons at the Federal Correctional Complex in Victorville, California. He also attained a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Phoenix.
In his free time, Hector enjoyed watching sports, spending time with his family and driving around in his Challenger.
On February 08, 2018 Hector passed away suddenly in Temecula, California. He leaves behind his loving wife of 14 years Maria Del Rosario; his children Arturo, Paola, Jairo and Jonathan; his mother Virginia Gutierrez; his two sisters Edith and Elizabeth; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. He will be remembered for his dedication to his country, the love that he had for his family, his humor and the smiles and laughter he brought to everyone.
