Obituary – Henry Rivas

A Life Well Lived:

Henry Rivas (1922-2020) A man with an independent spirit. A man of many words and stories. A man with a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh. He made us laugh with all his life stories, especially his war stories and all the pranks he played on his Air Force buddies during his time that he served in World War II. Henry led a rich and prosperous life he had a dignified and peaceful death as he passed of natural causes. He prided himself on his healthy life style of no drinking or smoking. Many friends and family gathered and were present until the end, just the way he wanted it. Lots of love and attention to help him transition to a peaceful and restful place. Henry was the rock for his family and provided his family with the “BEST”, never did they do without and because of that their lives were enriched by his inspiration and love. His dedication to his business, rose to a level to attain his goal and built his dream house in Hacienda Heights where he lived with his family for 25 years. At the Hacienda House he loved to entertain and had many events including his annual open house for Christmas. He welcomed all family, friends and business associates. He was a very charitable, generous, creative and innovative man. He was an avid golfer, and in his younger days played tennis. After his return from World War II, he returned to his passion in the arts and developed a wonderful talent of portrait painting and jewelry design. Sunday mornings were special, he would spontaneously invite family over to share in a breakfast feast which he proudly prepared including his famous chili ranchero sauce.

Henry is survived by 1 daughter, 2 sons, 5 grandchildren, 2 sisters and many family and friends.

He leaves us as a legend that has inspired our lives, and loving memories.

We will truly miss him.
