Jacqualyn (Jackie) Yvonne Watkins Solomon was an only child born to Charles Ellis Watkins and Bessie Ann Daniel Watkins on April 09, 1938 in Buffalo Junction, Virginia. She attended Elementary School in Buffalo Junction, VA prior to the family relocating to San Diego, CA due to her father’s Navy transfer to San Diego, CA. She attended Logan Heights Elementary School, Memorial Jr. High School and Graduated from San Diego High School with honors in 1956. Upon graduation, she attended Texas Southern University (TSU) in Houston, TX, San Diego State University and Compton College. She was also a debutant and a CA Scholarship Student (CFS) while attending high school.
Jackie moved to Los Angeles in 1961 with her MG sports car and met Joe Solomon., another MG sports car addict, they fell in love and were married on May 26, 1962 in Las Vegas, NV. They were blessed with two sons Joseph Jay and Jeffrey Charles and they enjoyed over fifty seven years of love and fun spent traveling all over the United States in various motor homes with travel clubs (Good Sam, Outsiders, FMCA, CBC-SoCal and NAARVA). Jackie also enjoyed her pets, namely “Tweetie” in San Diego, “DJ” in Los Angeles and “Scrappy” in Los Angeles and Perris, California.
Jackie retired from the Aerospace Industry after being employed by Teledyne Industries for over forty-two years. Most of her spare time was spent with buying and selling black arts and crafts, making arts and crafts, traveling and producing award-winning scrapbooks.
She was a long time member of St. Bernardette Catholic Church in the Lose Angeles Baldwin Hill Area and recently transferred to St. James the Less Catholic Church in Perris
.She leaves to cherish her memories her husband Joe Solomon of over fifty-seven (57) years, her sons Jay and Jeff, she also leaves an aunt (Roxie Daniel) of Buffalo Junction, VA; a sister in law Delores Johnson of Houston, TX; and numerous cousins, friends and acquaintances to cherish her memories.
