James Edward Laird Sr.

James Edward Laird Sr. was born in Cleveland, Ohio on November 16, 1947. He was one of four children born to William Laird and Dorothy Lampert-Laird. James passed away peacefully at his home in Sun City, California on March 13, 2020 with his family by his side.

James attended Madison Memorial High School and graduated with the Class of ’67. Shortly after graduation James joined the United States Air Force as a Civil Engineer and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant in 1971, he then went on to work in the manufacturing of automotive, aviation and medical industries for many years.

James will be remembered as a loving father who was very dedicated in his children’s school activities. He loved family outings, was very hardworking, dedicated and to those who knew him very well knew how he was very set on his ways. He kept himself busy and enjoyed volunteering, he was the HOA President for his Community and also volunteered with the "Crime Watch" of the Menifee Sheriff’s Department. In his free time he enjoyed watching a lot of his TV shows. He had weekly game nights with friends and spending time with his dog “Trudy”.

James now joins with open arms his father William Laird and mother Dorothy Lampert-Laird; his two brothers Richard and Greg; his sister Suzanne; and his son James Edward Jr.

He leaves behind to love and cherish his memory his loving daughter Christina with her husband Michael Mims; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; sister Donna; Nieces and Nephews; and his most loyal friend and companion his mini pincher “Trudy”.

James will be dearly missed and loved by those who knew him.
