Jan Mendenhall passed away after a short illness on Saturday, November 17, 2018, at the age of 78. Jan will be lovingly missed and remembered by her husband Dayle, her children, Ken, Danna (Allen), Bryan (Claudia), Dustin, Stacey (Frank), and Tracey (Bud), her 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father Kenneth Harold Jones, mother Edith, and sister Sandy Danford.

Jan was born on October 24, 1940 in Arizona. She attended Bellflower High School in Bellflower, California. Jan was a passionate and energetic woman who loved gardening, listening to doo wop music, and travelling. Jan and Dayle traveled the world, seeing everything from Disneyland to the Egyptian pyramids to the Colosseum in Rome. Her grandchildren have fond memories of spending summers with Grandma, driving around in her bright red convertible, staying up too late, and eating too much ice cream. She could usually be found in her garden, tending to her flowers and most likely singing to herself. The family would like to thank Genta Purvis for the wonderful care and friendship given to Jan in the last years of her life.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Jan’s life will be held on Saturday, Dec 1, 2018 at 1pm at the Evans Brown Mortuary located at 27010 Encanto Drive, Sun City, CA.
