CMSGT (USAF Retired) Jesse William Klahr, a beloved husband, father, grandpa and great-grandpa. He was born in Brooklyn, New York 100 years ago. He passed away peacefully at his home in Menifee, California surrounded by his family on September 9, 2021.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lolita (affectionately known as Dolly); sons, David Skip Klahr and Runnel Klahr; daughter, Donna (Barrett); granddaughter, Jennifer (Luchetti); great-grandsons, Gino and Jake (Luchetti); nephews, Bernie (Daina), Joseph (Daina) and Fred (Binder), and nieces, Marian (Binder) and Roberta (Fishhaut).
CMSGT (Retired) Jesse William Klahr served in 3 wars: World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War. During WWII, he served in the US Navy with the Task Force 58 in South Pacific-Asia in support to the invasion of Iwo Jima, Chi Chi Jima, Okinawa, and the Liberation of the Philippines Islands. After WWII, he continued to serve and join the US Army Air Corp, and later became the US Air Force Branch, which he continued to serve. He became an aviation flight engineer while serving the US Air Force. He did several air missions during the Korean War Campaign in 1950s and Vietnam War Campaign in 1960s.
After serving his country faithfully for over 30 years, he retired and honorably discharged from serving the US Air Force.
Jesse William Klahr was known for his sense of humor, kindness and generosity. He was the last member of his Air Force Buddies who preceded him more than 10 years ago. Special thanks to Mr. Roger Hayes (son of Bob Hayes, Jesse’s buddy) and his wife Sheryl for continuing the Air Force Buddies breakfast meeting tradition with Jesse W. Klahr once a month at Norms Restaurant in Riverside and BJ’s Restaurant in Menifee. Sadly, Mr. Roger Hayes passed away in 2018.
Our family wishes to extend our gratitude for the helpful and compassionate services of the staffs of the following: Pacific Valley Hospice Care of Ontario, Valley Care Home Health Services of Temecula with special thanks to Mr. Frank Basto for continued support to the family needs, Veteran Affair Hospital in Loma Linda and clinic in Murrieta. Special thanks to Dr. Evelyn Lomarda as his VA Primary doctor and to Dr. Scott Herron as his Orthopedist in Temecula. Also, to the staff of Evans Mortuary of Sun City.
