Jimmie Lou Kennedy

Jimmie Lou Kennedy, beloved Mother, Grand-Mother, Great-Grandmother, Great-Great-Grandmother and friend, was reunited with her Heavenly Father on August 5, 2017.  She was 81 years old.

Jimmie enjoyed a quiet life in Sun City, visited often by her family. Her hobbies included thrift shopping, card games with good friends and weekly outings to Taco Tuesday.

She was born in Flinstone, GA on April 12, 1936 to parents Clifford and Viola Parrish. Growing up, Jimmie discovered her passion for painting and collecting ceramics. She also had a love of birds and cared for quite a few over the years.

In 1952 she married James Kennedy of the US Coast Guard and together they were blessed with two children, Kimmie and Stephen. Being in the Coast Guard, the family was relocated multiple times however, some of Jimmie’s most fond memories were living in the Lighthouses in California.

In 1988, she moved to Southern California with her daughter and grandchildren and it is there that she met Larry, the man she would spend the rest of her life with. They spent many years in Lytle Creek, working together on a small cabin. There they adopted a miniature pinscher named Zacky, who would go on to become one of Jimmie & Larry’s most cherished pets. They later moved to Sun City where they met wonderful life-long friends.

She is survived by her children Kimmie (Mark), Stephen (Tracie). Grandkids Bryan, Autumn (Cory), Shannon (Jeff), Shaun (Tiffany), Timothy (Savana) and Karlyn. Great-Grandchildren Marijah, Danyele, Madison, Connor, Zoe, Clayton, Charlie, Jaxson, Jaeson, Stephaine,,Aiden, Stephan, Gage, Hailee, Talia, Spencer, Sierra, Tyson, and Travis. Great-Great-Grandchild Prescott.
