John H Gates

John Howard Gates was born in Waterloo, Iowa on December 12, 1943 to parents Lewis and Marie Gates.  He passed away in Menifee, California on May 1, 2018.  He is survived by his wife of 55 years Alice Gates; 5 children Tad Gates, Wade Gates, Tamra Colvin, Wanda Mole, & Troy Gates; 17 grandchildren Samantha, John, Dakota, Dillon, Micah, Arrin, Justin, Addison, Cece, Clementine, Matthew, Ashley, Jordan, Michelle, Tyler, Kaylee, & Adeline; 8 great-grandchildren (with one on the way); Brother David Gates; and Sister Marylou Lindsey.

John served his country in Navy from 1961 – 1964.  He worked professionally as an Engineer Aide for the Public Utilities.  John was a family man and loved Church Ministry.  He was very organized and always early.  Family and friends will miss his competitive spirit and loving heart.
