Jose Nuñez Salazar

It is with a heavy heart that the family of Jose Nuñez Salazar, of Menifee, announces his passing at the age of 73 years. He peacefully reunited with his wife Maritza on November 23, 2022, at his home. He was born November 10, 1949, in Douglas, Arizona to Celia and Ramiro Salazar.
Jose graduated from Huntington Park High School in 1967.  He was drafted into the Army on August 19, 1969, where he served his country in Vietnam as part of the 1st Calvary Division. He was honorably discharged on August 19, 1971.
He married Maritza de Los Angeles on November 10, 1973, and had two children; daughter, Michelle Renee, born in 1976 and son, Jose Alejandro, born in 1982. 
Jose was a structural mechanic by trade.  The 70’s and early 80’s saw him work for Bethlehem Steel and N.I. Industries.  He later dedicated over a decade with McDonnell Douglas, which later merged with Boeing.
Jose enjoyed spending his time with his family. He loved the outdoors and spent many summers camping with his family in places like Sequoia National Park, Yosemite National Park, and Big Bear Lake.
Jose will be missed for his unforgettable sense of humor, his selfless giving, and his dedication to his family, which saw 46 years of marriage. He will be greatly missed by his daughter Michelle; son Jose and wife Rebecca; grandchildren Lexzie Taylor, Lawrence Alexzandre, Carmen Marlene, Isabella Irene, Madisynne Brook; father Ramiro; his sisters, Christina, Maria Teresa, and Rosalinda; cousins, and many nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved and shared great memories.
Please join us in celebrating our beloved father, grandfather, brother, son, and uncle’s life on Sunday, December 18, 2022, at 1:00 pm. The reception will commence following the service until 5:00 pm at Evans-Brown Mortuary, 27010 Encanto Drive, Menifee, CA.
