Kamilah Ain Spears was born July 28, 1976 in Flagstaff, Arizona, to the union of Joe and Lois Spears. Shortly afterward the family moved to Gardena, California in 1980, Kamilah attended Hudnall Elementary School in Inglewood, California. In 1987 the family again moved to Moreno Valley, California where she attended Butterfield Middle School and later graduated from Valley View High School in 1994.
After High School, Kamilah worked at Areo-Dyne in Corona, California in the Electronic Field assembling and winding AC and DC Motors. Later she decided to attend Elegant Beauty College because of her love for hair styling. She graduated in 1996.
Kamilah was baptized in Jesus name and filled with the Holy Ghost according to Acts 2:38. She was a member of Greater Bethel Apostolic Church of Riverside, California. Under the Pastorate of her Stepfather, Bishop Michael R. McGuire, Sr. She loved helping around the church; whatever her hands would find to do, she did it. She would assist in the dining room, cleaning, as well as assist in the Editorial Ministry and Video Ministry.
Her world was surrounded by the love and care she demonstrated for her sons. She loved her boys and trained them to be respectful young men not only in the home, but abroad as well.
Some of her talents were cooking, baking, decorating, cars, animals and let’s not forget that famous 7/Layer Dip! WOW! Kamilah would light up a room when she entered with her mouth wide open and that patented, unique laugh shaking the room. Kamilah was trustworthy, and excited about life and thanked God continuously for his many blessings.
She leaves to mourn her mother, Lois McGuire; father, Joe Spears; stepfather, Michael R. McGuire, Sr.; brother, Michael R. McGuire, Jr.; two sisters, Marie Spears and Tracy (Robert) Haywood; three sons, Vashun Isaiah Landers, Marques Elijah Elzy and Quinten Tremon Spears as well as a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
"If You Could See Me Now."
If you could see me now you wouldn't shed a tear,
Though you may not understand why,
I am no longer there.
Remember my spirit,
That is the real me.
Because I'm still very much alive, I've just been set free!
Oh, if you could only see!
I have beheld our Father's face and I've touched my Savior's hand.
All of Heavens angels rejoiced as I entered the promised land.
Beyond the gates of pearl, I 've walked on the golden streets,
I've touched the walls of jasper and dipped my foot in the crystal sea.
The beauty is beyond words and nothing could compare,
I've even seen your mansion and someday, I'll meet you there.
Let Jesus be your guide because His Word will show you the way!
So, please don't cry because we will meet again someday.
