Kay Sonja Gautsche

Sun City, California – Kay Sonja Gautsche, 81, died peacefully on Nov. 7 at her home with family and dear friend Pat by her side.  Sonja was known by all as a caring, fun and generous person.  Sonja was born to Clarence E. Roberts and Lottie M. Roberts in Ohio on Oct. 1, 1939. She is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her son Grant (Judy) Gautsche, grandchildren Nathan Lawrence Gautsche, Joanna Kaylyn Gautsche, and brother Jerry (Jean) Roberts, niece Lisa Roberts and nephew Jeff (Lauren)Roberts, children Chaz, Jase and Ava Roberts. Sonja enjoyed watching sports, especially Ohio State Football “Go Buckeyes”.  Other hobbies include gardening, bowling, golf, jet skiing, water skiing.  She loved dancing, playing cards, enjoying a cold beer and spending time with her friends and family.  She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.  Sonja was a special lady, known for her infectious laughter, and fun, kind and compassionate spirit.  Sonja attended Faith Lutheran Church and donated to various veterans’ organizations.

A small private “Celebration of Life Service” will be held at 1 pm on Sunday, November 15, 2020, at Faith Lutheran Church, 28200 Portsmouth Drive, Sun City, CA 92586. Due to COVID-19 the service size is limited to 10 people so only immediate family and a few close friends will be able to attend the service.
