Kent Taylor (54) was received into the arms of our savior on June 09, 2019 in Grand Terrace, CA.
He was the husband of Janet Taylor, they shared 26 years of marriage together.
Born in Los Angeles, California Kent was the son of Chester Taylor and Ivy Wilborne, of Louisiana.
Kent attended the University of California Riverside on a scholarship where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business degree. Kent moved on to The University of Laverne where he then earned his teaching credential. Kent earned his Master of Education Degree from California State University.
A determined champion for education; with a passion to train leaders, Kent served the Colton Joint Unified School District as a member of the board of education from 1999-2011 and again in 2014-2019.
Kent’s first teaching assignment was as an instructional aid with the San Bernardino City Unified School District.
Kent later served as High School Vice Principal with the Yucaipa Joint Unified School District, and moved onto the San Jacinto School District where he served as High School Principal.
Kent moved into District administration at the Rialto Unified School District, then moved on to serve the Rosamond School District as superintendent in 2011, he served the Inglewood Unified School District as superintendent in 2012, and moved on to the Lennox school District beginning in 2013 as deputy superintendent and most recently superintendent until April 2019.
Kent dedicated his adult life to education, and worked 30 years in education.
Kent was a member of Sandals Church Hunter Park campus.
Kent served the Boys and girls Club of San Bernardino, and encouraged many youth through mentor ship.
Kent will be remembered for his kind; caring, giving, personality, and for being a loyal mentor, and friend.
Kent is survived by his wife Janet Taylor, a son Andrew Taylor, and two daughters, Courtney Taylor and Ava Taylor; His mother, Ivy Wilborne.
Kent was predeceased by his father, Chester Taylor.
