November 3, 1929 ~ August 18, 2021 (age 91) 91 Years Old

Tribute

Many people knew Laura as a hard worker and dedicated to helping family and friends. Laura was born in Wewoka, Oklahoma on November 3, 1929 as the eldest child to Oscar Choate and Marguerite Brannon. She was preceded in death by all of her siblings; William Edward Choate, Kathryn E. Smith and Shirley N. Huston.

Jean as she was known, loved art, music and was an avid reader. Over the years she had enough books to open a library.

Working for over 25 years in retail sales at K-Mart and Cornette Variety, Jean retired and devoted her time to family and friends. She was always there when needed to clean, babysit or talk.

Jean is survived by her daughter Stephanie Regis and husband Ray; grandchildren Laura and Scott Thompson, Anna and Joe Gunderson and Ray Regis Jr.; great grandchildren Brooke, Gavin, Nora and Valerie. Aunt to Stacey Huston, Michael Smith, Dani and Jorge Pereda, Matthew Smith and families.

Jean enjoyed all the hub-bub of family gatherings but was always glad to go home to her roses and quiet.

Laura Jean Black’s family, past and present meant the world to her. She was proud of them and loved them deeply. She was beloved by them all.
