Lela Pat Schlegel

Lela Pat Schlegel passed away Saturday April 9, 2022. Lela was born to Albert and Leah Hash on November 26, 1940, in Klamath Falls, Oregon. Lela was seventh of ten children and grew up in Oregon. 

Lela married Donald Wayne Schlegel, who was an Air Force airman stationed at Kingsley Air Force Base. They were married September 14, 1962, at the chapel on Kingsley Air Force Base in Klamath Falls.

 Lela and Don had three children and lived in the San Diego area for twenty-two years. They have been residents of Murrieta, California since 1986. Lela’s interests included crafting, crocheting, and games of all kinds. She loved people and quietly served others in their times of need. She has been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints since 1972. 

 Lela is survived by her husband Donald, daughter, Tammy Schlegel (Smith), son-in-law Kory Smith, daughter Crystal Schlegel (Kolb), son-in-law Tom Kolb, son Robert Schlegel, daughter-in-law Jill Schlegel (Dana), grandchildren (Ashley) and Omar Garza, (Brittney) and Danny Mortensen, (Nathan) and Stephanie Smith, Connor Schlegel, Ben Schlegel, great-grandchildren, Kyler, Abigail, Logan, Gabriel, Patrick, Ethan, Olivia, Lillian, Shawn, and Sam, brother Glen Hash, brother, Albert (Butch) Hash, sister-in-law Jean Hash, and sister Barbara Hash (Southwick) . 

Lela’s Memorial service will be held 10:00am Saturday April 23, 2022, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 38980 Sky Canyon Drive, Murrieta, CA 92563.
