Leticia came into the world on Friday, June 15, 1956, in Guadalajara, Mexico. She moved to the United States in the early 1980’s. Leticia had one son when she moved here and a second was soon to follow. Through very hard work and against all odds, Leticia became a U.S. Border Patrol Agent. She later advanced in her career and became a Special Agent with Immigration and Customs Enforcement. She spent the next 30 years serving her country with honor and integrity. She served San Diego and Riverside County communities to the best of her abilities. During those 30 years of service, she met the love of her life, Maureen! Together they raised their two boys in Chula Vista, CA and later moved to Murrieta, CA.
As life continued, Leticia enjoyed taking trips with her love and spending time with friends and family. She was often considered the life of the party, not because of her jokes but because of her contagious laugh. She loved her dogs almost more than anything. She always had a very soft place in her heart for animals and hated the thought of any sort of cruelty towards them whatsoever. After retiring, she and Maureen would take as many trips as possible to various places. The plans they had set were sadly brought to an end by her unexpected death on February 27th, 2022. Leticia passed away from various medical complications.
Leticia will be greatly missed. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and daughter. If you were lucky enough to have known her, and especially if she loved you, you had a lifelong friend in her! Leticia is proceeded in death by her father Joaquin Cardenas and brother Frederico Cardenas. She is survived by her wife Maureen Glover, her sons Christian and Brant Holmes, along with Christian’s fiancé Linda Cobos, and Brant’s life partner Anthony Gonzales, her mother Alicia Cardenas, along with brothers Hugo and Alfredo, sisters Irma, Alicia, Sandra, Martha Cardenas and Gonzalez.
