Marie Louise Davis

 Marie L. Belson-Davis, age72, passed away on November 20, 2020 in Murrieta, California. She was born on February 27th, 1947 in Opelousas, Louisiana to the parents of Adam Belson and Frances Thierry-Belson. After the passing of her mother at the age of 3, Mary Rene and Adam Belson wedded and raised her and her two older siblings as her own children and they grew into a beautiful extended family of 7 girls and 3 boys. She married Donald Davis in December 1983, with whom they had one daughter Donna Marie Davis of Murrieta, California. and her two step-sons, whom she adored, Donald and Darrin Davis. Marie was a loving and proud grandmother to DeAni Pride, age 18 and Christian Pride, age 12. Spending time with her grandchildren was one of her favorite things to do. She adored and cherished them with every breath she took and no matter how tired she was, they were her first priority.

At the tender age of 14 years old, she followed her two older sisters to Los Angeles, California where she attended and graduated from Washington High School. After graduating, she attended West LA Community College and UCLA where she began her career in collections and billing. She was so excited to have her only daughter in 1984; she took a hiatus from work to raise her full-time during her formative years. She ended her professional career at the United States Department of Justice in downtown Los Angeles.

Marie was well known and loved by many. She had a love for all people and made friends quickly. She enjoyed gardening- everything she put in the ground flourished and grew effortlessly; shopping- late in the evening until the store closed and they had to ask her to leave; picking up random gifts for the people she loved- if she escorted you to her car trunk, that meant she picked up something special for you; sales- she could sell whatever she liked with such finesse. “These are THE BEST…” “It’s so good and FRESH…” It did not matter what it was, if she liked it, it was worth the discussion.  

She devoted most of her time and energy as a caregiver for her family members. There was nothing more important to her than her family and friends. Marie, will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna Marie Davis, her two grandchildren DeAni and Christian Pride. Her brothers and sisters: Martin Belson, Irma Wagoner, Patricia Rene, Cynthia Belson, Martha Hardin, and Pamela Derden, her two Goddaughters Joi Francois and Tammy Hood, along with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins that will miss her dearly. Preceded in death was Mary Rene-Belson (Mother), Christopher Belson (Brother), Leonnell Worsham (Sister), Adam Belson (Father), Julius Belson (Brother).
