Michael Theodore Young Sr., “Mighty Mike T.”, “Suga Pie”, “Mike Mike”, was born in Los Angeles, California on January 26, 1962 to his loving parents, Theodore and Betty Young. He passed away peacefully at the age of 57 in Riverside, California with his family by his side on January 05, 2020.

Michael attended Gardena High School, and later enlisted in the US Navy, proudly serving as an Aviation Maintenance Administrationman. Medals and awards received during his enlistment were: C Service Deployment Ribbon, Battle Efficiency Ribbon, Navy Expeditionary Medal, as well as a good conduct medal. He met the love of his life Ruthetta Thompson and they married on January 11, 1991, combining five loving children: Cherry, Michael Jr., Chasita, Kapres, and Walander. He was employed as a Civil Servant and worked for the City of Los Angeles. Later, Michael worked as a professional truck driver for many years. Finally, he obtained his goal becoming a Longshoreman and joining the ILWU International Longshore and Warehouse Union. He was a proud member of Church of Christ. Michael excelled in everything that he did, he was personable, compassionate, humorous, clever and witty, with a winning personality, but most of all he was loved by all who knew him. He loved playing chess, and he enjoyed watching football and basketball. Above all Michael loved spending time with his family and spreading the Lord’s word any chance he was given.  

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife Ruthetta (Tiny) Young; his children: Cherry Young-Romero and her husband Jovian Romero, Michael T. Young Jr., Chasita Smith and her husband Kenny Smith, Kapres Ward, and Walander Ward; his grandchildren: Christopher Cooper, Michael T. Young III, Han'niah Young, Alani Romero, and Nylah Romero; his mother: Betty Shapiro; his brothers: Beaver Young and his wife Sharon Young, and Herman Young; his sister: Kelley Young; his nephews: Erick Young, Majdy Masri, Kevin Young, Marcus Johnson, and Kelly (Alex) Johnson; a host of aunts and uncles as well as cousins; his church family and many more loved ones.

 Although he leaves his loving family and friends behind, he goes on to join those who preceded him in death, his father: Theodore Young; grandparents: Jannie and James Anderson Jr.; and uncles: James Anderson III and Danny Anderson.
