Myrna Paz Maquera
Myrna Paz Maquera was originally from New York and left for Edmonton, Alberta Canada with her husband Andres Maquera in the early 1950’s to start a new family, with a son Antonio Arnel Maquera arriving in 1955. Unfortunately, she became a widow in 1957 and was left to raise her son on her own. Myrna never remarried and dedicated her life focused on raising her only child and her career. Initially she practiced as a registered pediatric nurse and went on to becoming a tenured professor in the school of nursing in Grant McEwan Community College in Edmonton. She followed her son to California in 1985 and continued her teaching career in nursing and eventually retired in Menifee in 2001
Myrna Maquera completed her undergraduate studies and Fordham University in New York and her Master’s Degree in Maternal and Child Health from Texas Women’s University in Denton Texas
Myrna Maquera has travelled the world with the World Health Organization to third world countries when a health crisis breaks. Myrna Maquera is a devout Catholic, woman of great faith and prayer. She has been a daily mass attendee all her life and has been a parishioner in St, Martha Catholic Church in Murrieta since 1990.
