Nancy Jane Dufford passed away on February 19, 2021, in Menifee, California. She lost her battle with Covid - 19. She was a loving wife, mother of two sons, and grandmother of 4 children. 

Nancy was born on April 15, 1955 in Inglewood, California, to Mary Lou and Gene Baca. She lived in Culver City, California until she was five years old. She moved to Kansas City, Kansas in 1960. She lived in Kansas for five years until her father was transferred and then moved to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia in 1965. She also lived in Beirut, Lebanon. After being evacuated from Beirut, Lebanon in 1967, she returned to Kansas for her Junior High School years. In 1970, Nancy and her family moved to Southern California where she spent the remaining years of her life. She attended La Quinta High School in Westminster, California and graduated a semester early in 1973. She then attended Orange Coast College and graduated with an Associate of Arts Degree. Nancy worked as a checker for Vons from 1977 - 1993. 

 

On January 25, 1981, Super Bowl Sunday, Nancy married Mitchell Dufford. They raised two sons, Ryan and Sean Dufford. She was a very proud home maker. She took much pride in raising her two loving sons. Throughout her life, Nancy worked several jobs and worked doing non-profit organization work like becoming the President of Little League. 

Nancy was a very intelligent woman and an excellent writer. She mixed her passion for writing with her amazing sense of humor and continued to write throughout her life. Nancy was a hilarious person with a contagious smile and memorable laugh. She believed laughter was the best sound on Earth and that Life’s hilarity should resound throughout our daily lives. Nancy’s hospitality was above and beyond. She was full of compliments and a very selfless woman. She also had a passion for cooking and her cooking was second to none. She made many sacrifices for her family and was always a comfort in times of crisis. 

Nancy was preceded in death by her father, Gene, her mother, Mary Lou, and her brother, Jim. She is survived by her husband Mitch, her two sons, Ryan and Sean, and her four grandchildren, Harper, Finley, Elliot, and Seth. 

The celebration of life for Nancy will be TBA at a later date.
