Nancy Jean (Kasper) Johnson was granted her angel wings on July 18th, 2020 at the age of 85. Born in North Chicago on December 15, 1934, she returned to the heavenly father at her home Sun City California, surrounded by her family in her final days.
She waged a long brave battle with breast cancer and defied odds with her courage and spirit. God granted her two years longer on this earth than all had thought possible, to spread her love, faith and wisdom. She delightfully witnessed the weddings of numerous additional grandchildren and five great grandchildren be born into this world in those two years. She made everyone laugh with her wit and spunk until the end.
Those who were touched by her understand that the quality of living exceeded the quantity in which one lives. Her gentle smile, loving heart and sassy wit brought so much joy to the people around her. She gave us all courage and hope, and reminded us of the preciousness of life. She set a wonderful example on how to live lovingly, and her faith and devotion to the Catholic Church was unsurpassed.
Nancy was the last of her generation. In 2011, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, James Kenneth Johnson. Additionally, she was preceded in death by her daughter Alice Lorraine Johnson, her grandson Timothy James Sinon, as well as her siblings Chuck Kasper, Lorraine Stewart, and Janene Hembroff. She is survived by her eleven other children: Michele Shoemaker of Landers CA; Maureen Sinon of Olathe KS; Jill (Dennis) Conley of Poolesville MD; Nancy Brady of Conyers GA; Laura (Mark) Sutton of Reno NV; Janet Johnson Gutierrez of Boise ID; Rosemary (Richard) Wallace of Menifee CA; Brenda (Bert) Ellis of Boise ID; Kathy (Adam) Morris of Placentia CA; Brian (Judy) Johnson of Boise ID; Diane (Larry) Jamison of Boise ID. She is also survived by 28 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
