Olive M. Woods was born in Clairemore, Oklahoma on June 02, 1923. She was the fourth of nine children born to William Thurman and Sarah Lutz. She attended Clairmore Hawatha High School and then went on to work in different jobs after high school. In 1946, she married the love of her life Burlen Woods and together they were blessed with four children Brenda, Glenda, David and Carol. They were a very loving strong family who enjoyed spending time together in the outdoors in the mountains and visiting family in Oklahoma. Burlen was a christian pastor so the family spent a lot of time in church and traveling to different churches sharing the gospel. Sadly in 1987, after 41 years of marriage with Olive, Burlen passed away. Olive remained strong for herself and the family. She enjoyed spending her time with family, crocheting and enjoyed various arts and crafts. She was an amazing cook she made various dishes like dumplings, tacos and enchiladas. Some would say she made the best enchiladas ever, but she took the crown when it came to playing Skipo. She was the Skipo Queen! Everyone that met her, loved her. She was warm, loving, kind and funny.
Olive is preceded in death by her loving husband Burlen Woods; her two daughters Brenda and Carol; her parents William Thurman and Sarah Lutz; three brothers Ray, Jack and Lee; and her great grandchild Piper. She leaves behind to cherish and live on in her memory her daughter Glenda with husband Chuck Joseph; her son David with wife Jamie Woods; twelve grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; one great great grandson; her four sisters Majetta, Faye, Glenda (Deanie) and Connie; a host of nieces and nephews; other extended family and many many friends.
