Tribute

Opal Irene McDaniel was born in Tryon, Oklahoma on January 14, 1923. She was the fifth of six children born to Alan Bates and Hazel Butler. At the age of 18, Opal married Orville McDaniel and lived in San Diego, California while he was serving in WWII. Together both Opal and Orville were blessed with two children Gary and Jerry. Opal had a very strong faith with God and was an active member of World Church of Los Angeles for over 50 years. She enjoyed helping others, was a loving mother and a good friend. At the age of 75, she legally adopted her great-grandson Tyler. She also maintained a loving home for Linda Susan Hubbard while nursing her back to health after a birth deformity prevented her natural child development. She also provided a home for Stella Smallwood during her teen years, and Stella and Linda became siblings to Opals children. Opal has done so many good things for others that she will mostly be remembered for her loving nature. At the age of 95, Opal passed away peacefully in Wildomar, California on February 28, 2018.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband who passed away in 1992 Orville McDaniel; her parents Alan and Hazel Bates; her five siblings Roy, Ed, Howard, Orville, and Lena.

She leaves behind to cherish and live in her memory her son Gary McDaniel with his wife Mary; her daughter Jerry Rosene; her Son Tyler; eight grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; two great-great- grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews; her church family and many friends.
